2018 Warrandyte Festival – CANCELLED

IMG_0618

Update 15 March 2018 Due to extreme fire risk all activities on Saturday 17th March, including the parade, have been cancelled.

The Warrandyte Festival is an annual celebration of community, participation and friendship that is held on the banks of the Yarra in March. A major part of the festival is the street parade held on Saturday morning where performers and members of the community travel along Yarra Street from central Warrandyte down to Stiggant’s Reserve. The Ringwood Highland Pipe Band is pleased to be a regular participant in the Warrandyte festival and we will again be participating in 2018.

Band Members; its a good idea to work together to have some cars up the top of the walk (where we start) and some parked down at Stiggant’s reserve so we can then ferry people to their cars prior to and at the end of the march as it is a bit of a walk otherwise 🙂  I will be parking down near Stiggant’s Reserve so if anyone needs a lift back up to the start after the March let me know!

Date: 17 March 2016 Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Band Arrival Time 9:30 am Band Transport Own

2017 Ghillie brogues & socks

All members:

The form below is to allow you to register interest in being a part of a group purchase of Ghillie Brogues and band socks.  Band members need to pay for these items themselves, but by purchasing in bulk online we should be able to make considerable savings.  This is not a commitment to purchase yet, it is just a way for us to generate a list to obtain quotes from overseas.  Confirmation will come after this step.  The supplier we’re likely to use is Highland House in Pakistan (http://highlandhouse.pk/)

All fields in the form below except name and email are optional.  So you can indicate if you want shoes, socks or both.

Note:

  • Sizes are to be based on the British shoe size system
  • Please indicate mens, ladies or kids sizes as they differ
  • Please add 0.5 to 1 size to your normal shoe size to allow for the thick socks we wear
  • For kids consider 1 to 1.5 sizes to allow room to grow!

Shoes available for sale now.

There are two second hand pairs available in men’s sizes 7 and 8 with a band member now so if this suits anyone please let Peter or Ian know.

Thanks,
Peter.

Maroondah City Council Smarty Grant

Ringwood Highland Pipe Band Snare Drummers are thrilled with the recently arrived Flint Snare Lightweight Drums and are now using them in all parade activities. Sincere thanks to Maroondah City Council for the $3.000 grant which substantially contributed their purchase. See how good they look! All marching bands should use these in the safety OHS interest of their organisation.
